Type of a scam Tech Support

On Mar 12, 2015, a warning popped up on my screen saying my computer was about to crash and to call a number.

I called and they asked permission to take control of my computer, saying they were with the manufacturer of my computer. They ran a scan and I even gave them my credit card so they could charge me $149.99 for 1 year of tech support. They had accents. I have even been contacted since then, a month later, I guess, and wanted to scan my computer again, but I refused. I have had email contact with them, as well. One of the guys said his name was Alan in billing, but he sounded more like a Muhammed…

Their email: [email protected] They provided Toll free number-18442959209.

They took my payment via PayTabs, [email protected] I didn’t think to contact them, at the time.

I assume PayTabs is like PayPal.

They sent the image attached from [email protected] At the bottom it said:

"To ensure that you continue receiving our emails, please add [email protected] to your address book or safe list." (Attached is the authorization letter for my signature).

Right after all this happened, my grandson, 13 yrs old, appeared and told me it was a scam.

This is the info they typed into my devices:

assign a level 8 technician

secure a security platform

email security

internet banking security

remove unauthorized access

anti hacking tools

optimization of computer

remove all the infection

1 year technical support

security for life time

24*7 365 days

tollfree number

$149.99
