Send Goods Now

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I am reporting a scam involving purchase of goods involving a fake website.

An individual purportedly in Halifax, Nova Scotia contacted me and attempted to sell me a MacBook Air through Craigslist–with payment/delivery arranged through a company called "Send Goods Now", having the following website:

http://www.ha-sendgoodsnow.com/

On the Send Goods Now contact page, the website lists its company address as 1083 Queen St, Halifax, NS B3H 0B. Please note, *** This address is the location of an actual UPS Store in Halifax ***. I called this UPS Store, the person I spoke with confirmed they had never heard of "Send Goods Now". I wanted the UPS Store to know its address was being used in what is surely an internet scam.

Send Goods Now summarizes its operations as follows:

1. Buyer and Seller Agree to Terms

2. Seller Gives the merchandise to Send Goods Now

3. Buyer Pays Send Goods Now

4. Buyer Accepts the merchandise

5. Send Goods Now Pays the Seller

I wisely did not agree or send money to Send Goods Now, but I wanted to report this so that the scam might be revealed and broadcast to a wider audience, or, better yet, shut down. While the scam uses Craigslist, worse yet, a somewhat slick website is involved in procuring payment.
