Received phone call from "SecurePC Technical Team" trying to sell computer worm protection and cleaning for a fee. The fees were The original caller represented himself as Bob Williams, ID 1097, located in Buffalo, NY and called from 716-851-2482. At one point he took control of my computer and, quite convincingly, demonstrated how infected my computer was. When asked what the service would cost, he replied $89 for 1 year protection for up to 2 devices, or $149 for 4 years protection for up to 8 devices. He offered confirmation from a "main office" located in California, at 760-933-1530, which I called. I declined the service.
Both Bob Williams and the main office representative sounded as if English was not their primary language.
Computer search suggest that, the company and both phone numbers seem bogus.
