Got the check and it looked iffy as did the photocopied directions. Looked up scams and this fit the profile…

Received a Priority Mail envelope today with a cashier’s check from Midwest Credit Union made out to me, and also Re: Tammy Reed in the amount of $2,900.42. The enclosed letter asks me to purchase $2,500 in Ebay gift cards from any store as a "Secret Surveyor". It further states that I should peel the silver scratch-off area from the card and photograph it with my phone (front and back of card) then email it to them along with the store name, address, cashier’s name and my overall experience with the store. Also it expressly tells my to deny that I am a "Secret Surveyor" letter signed by Mark Carter.
