Type of a scam Utility
An individual going by the name of Gregory Miller (badge#40693/ ext 119) impersonating NES told me that my business was going to have our power cut due to non payment. When I verified that payment with my was made with my company, I challenged him on this. He said that he sees where the payment was attempted and due to a computer issue that the payment had been returned as a refund so no payment was never processed for the account. He stated that if payment could be made immediately that our power would be cutoff due to computer schedule. Frantic to keep the power on I gave info for our corporate card to make a min payment. He also said that NES has a policy of 8-12 hrs processing time for credit cards. So we would not be able to avoid the shutdown. This individual was very convincing, even going as far as offering a discount on future bills for our inconvenience.
