Type of a scam Tech Support
A phone call came in asking for me by last name. They said they were either Microsoft or affiliated with Microsoft and that they’ve been getting online reports that my computer is not responding to Microsoft updates. They wanted me to go to the computer and start typing in their prompts. The phone number showed the originating call came from 1-216-415-8031. (But I later called the number, and it doesn’t work: surprise). During the incoming call, when I said to remove me from their call list and that I thought it was a scam, they hung up. I didn’t get far enough to see if they wanted money. Caller sounded like he was from India.
