Type of a scam Tech Support
I was on Microsoft support and a pop up came on screen and asked about the problem I had and I said I couldn’t print from my laptop. They asked if I would like someone to call me and assist. I said yes. Then I received a call from Sapphire Softech Solutions and the gentleman I spoke to gained access to my computer and worked on it for quite a time, cleaning it up. Then he told me I needed to install a firewall and he needed $1400 for a lifetime service and spyware protection. He asked for my bank account information and said he didn’t want my credit card info. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with it and he said we will go ahead and clear up the machine and then we’ll call you back to get payment information. It made me uncomfortable, and so I hung up and called ScamPulse.com and Microsoft and they had me shut down everything and cleaned up the damage the hacker did.
