This add was on Offerup ap which merged with Letgo Ap. It said:
“Selling an 2007 Infiniti G35 for $1000” The location was supposed to be in North Little Rock, Arkansas.

When you email [email protected], we got a response claiming to be a single mom and flight attendant who divorced her cheating husband and took this car from him so that is why she needs to sell it ASAP.

Then when we asked to meet and have a mechanic look at the car we got a BS story.

Now it was how she sold her home, moved in with her parents in Augusta, ME and so she had to prearranged deal with eBay Motors and that there will be “free delivery” though them. Then she asks us for our full name, address–going onto say that they are doing it this way to make sure it’s though them to prove they are a “legitimate seller”. Total scam!

Hi and thanks for the reply,

I figured a fresh start would do me good, so I packed up and moved to my home town, with my job (I am a military doctor). Before leaving I had prearranged the deal with eBay Motors so my presence isn’t necessary.
The deal is handled by eBay Motors and the Travel Trailer is stored with all the paperwork at the shipping company, in Augusta, ME, sealed and ready for delivery.
The shipping it’s offered by eBay to me so there will be no cost from your side. In addition, you will have 5 days to try out prior to making any purchase and if by any reason you find something you don’t like about it, hidden defects or anything else different from what I described you can send it back on my expense but I assure you that is not going to happen since my Travel Trailer is in immaculate condition inside and out. I want to make it very clear, I won’t be receiving a single dollar unless you inspect the Travel Trailer.

If you are ready to buy it and you have the cash available, please reply with your Full Name, Address and Phone #. Once I got all the details, I will forward them to eBay and they will process my order. After, they’ll email you with all the information that you need to complete this deal and also confirm that the transaction is conducted through them and I’m a legitimate seller.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing from you,
God Bless you and your family!

I responded to an ad on letgo app. It sounded kinda fishy, so I emailed my cousin, who has sold & bought many cars via internet, he said it was a scam, that the seller never agrees to paying for shipping costs & definitely doesn’t get paid via gift cards.
