Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I received an email from someone I didn’t know wanting to buy a large Scentsy order from me. They said it was for their cousin that is getting married. They listed what they wanted, and asked for the cost, mailing address to send the check, and my cell number. I gave them that info, then several days later I received a text that said they accidently over paid and the check was on the way. They wanted me to front them the money for the difference and trust them. I texted back and copied my friend in the text and said that my friend was the police and if the check is for the wrong amount I will just rip it up. And I will be held accountable by the law if I deposit it. I didn’t hear back from them again. I did receive two more suspicions emails for large Scentsy orders right after this though. I want them to stop.
