Type of a scam Phishing
The service this company provides is to simplify the process of obtaining our Social Security cards. It charges each customer from $35 and above for SS-5 form. It asks all my personal information which includes my social security number, address, date of birth, my parents’ social security numbers, and credit card info..etc. I mailed my supporting document and SS-5 form by myself and still haven’t got my Social Security card. Thus I tried to contact them but only heard from them once. They told me that the delay must be due to covid, so I had to call the Social Security Administration to track my mail. Finally, I realized that the supporting documents for social security card replacement this company lists on their website is wrong. I tried to contact this company, Safe Filing, a couple more times afterward but couldn’t reach anyone at all. In fact, I strongly believe I’m scammed. This company intends not only to make money from people, but also obtain the personal information from victims for illegal actions.

I was trying to access the www.ssa.gov.com website to request a replacement social security card. Upon doing so, this website popped up and started asking questions in which resulted in asking for payment online. I was able to download the Social Security Application and this was to be sent onto my local office with drivers license to obtain new card. I was charged $35.00 on my debit card 6/25/20 and received this information upon receipt:
Customer ID: 20200625042600JR
Transaction ID: 18002532514
Applicant Name:**** Order Date: 06-25-2020
I have attempted to reach out to this company, as I have yet to receive a new replacement card and when I called my local SS office; the representative has no info on file in regards to this matter.
