Total money lost $800

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I contacted "Ryan" on Friday October 5th 2018 after finding their website online through searching Colorado Springs for an exotic bird breeder, as referred by another trusted breeder we have already worked with. She had told me she had sold a breeding pair of birds to a man in Colorado Springs Colorado. After dealing with them for 6 days, I sent them a Western Union money order of $800 which was half the cost of the bird. That was after photos and videos were sent to me telling me about the bird. l finally figured out that the company was a scam when they tried to get me to pay for double the original cost "that was refundable" after the bird was delivered. He used the name Ryan but on the phony certificate he sent to me said he was Bryant Porter Olu.

Their "business" works in two phases.

1. They list items like "African Gray Parrot for Sale" then when you buy the parrot, which is always money up front.

2. Before they can send the bird out to you, they need to put it in a crate. A shipping company will send you an email saying that "your parrot has been held until you pay the cargo crate fee. The crates are between a "refundable" $800 and $1475.

3. They drop out of contact and say that your parrot is on the way. You will never see your parrot.

Other information: They list their business online in a location that is known to have exotic bird breeders, then scam people who think they are working with the right business. Their site is taken down and replaced every couple of weeks, and replaced with a new one.
