RTA Products Impostor

Shawna –

Victim Location 94803

Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes

I called the phone number given on an insert for an RTA Product that I purchased from Walmart in order to get phone help setting up this computer desk. They operator said that she would connect me with a tech person after she got some info from me so that they could send a Walmart $100 gift card. The questions went on and on and I asked how do I know this is RTA? They kept saying they wanted to send me this gift card, and needed to verify my name, address, and date of birth (to prove I was over 18 years old) and for just $4.95 they could send the package. I stupidly gave my credit card number (which I promptly canceled after I spoke with the real RTA products who said "they took over an old number of ours"). When the scammers finally transferred me to the "supervisor", he offered me a increasingly higher value gift cards, and I finally said, "no, transfer me to the tech help please which is why I originally called". Guess who hung up? I’m worried because they have my name, address, and DOB.
