Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
Be warned, this guy posed as an employee at the University of Vermont. Specially in their procurement department. He tried to scam us by sending a fake purchase order for eighty-thousand dollars worth of hard drives. Luckily we were able to expose the scam before the drives were shipped.
He first asked for a quote and seemed as just another valid prospect, however after calling and doing some research we quickly found out it was a scam. Here is his email:
Thanks for the feedback, but i’m afraid we’ve ordered for the solution from a different company lately, but we are still in need of the Hard Drives. Kindly see if you can supply us with the below quantities of hard drives with an official quote:
1. 10TB HGST, Seagate or WD Enterprise-Class SATA/SAS Hard Drives (100 Pieces)
2. 8TB HGST, Seagate or WD Enterprise-Class SATA/SAS Hard Drives (150 Pieces)
You may as well give me a quick call at anytime.
Sincerely.
Royce.
