Type of a scam Online Purchase
Purchased a ragdoll kitten (Luna) for $300 + $200 shipping. He provided their PayPal account as [email protected] I was told that the shipper would contact us about the particulars on arrival of my kitten. The next morning I received an e-mail from the shipper (Domestic Pet Ways – email [email protected] and phone (817) 880-7410) indicating that I would need to rent an thermal electronic crate to ship the kitten in the amount of $850. I was told that the $850 would be fully refunded to me upon the kittens arrival. When I asked why the crate needed to be rented and then refunded, I was told that the buyer doesn’t always return the crate. This didn’t make sense, as they were delivering the cat to the door and would be taking the crate back with them. I knew immediately that I had been scammed and proceeded to try and call the seller. After several voice messages, I did reach a person (not Rosalie by the way and sounded just like the shipper I had spoken with) that told me they have never had any problem with the shipper before. I told him this couldn’t be true, and that he was a scammer. I told him I wanted my money back, and he indicated that wouldn’t be a problem. When I contacted him via e-mail, he wanted my PayPal account number to reimburse. I told him he didn’t need that to reiimburse me via PayPal and that is the last time I have heard from him. P.S.: The kitten I was purchasing was Luna. In searching the web, I discovered that Luna is for sale on another website Jasmine Ragdoll Kittens. Cat loveres beware!
