I purchased a Roku Express. After entering the code on the setup screen, I received an error message. I went to what I thought was the Roku website. The site gave me a phone number to call. I spoke to a person who asked if I was having trouble setting up
the Roku. He said that he could help me set up my account. He asked me what kind of Roku I had. He asked for my phone number, address,
and birth date. He wanted to know which TV I was connecting the Roku to. The setup menu continued on the TV while I was on the phone with
him. He told me I had three choices of payment: a one year, three year, or a five year. I told him that the Roku said
there were no fees to set up an account. He replied that he knew that but I had to pay a fee to use the Roku. I chose the 99.99 five year option and I gave him my credit card information. He then gave me a phone number to call if I had any questions or wanted to sign up for Netflix or another streaming program. The phone number was 1-888-252-9343. He said to contact him using this number if I had any problems or wanted to add any other programs. I have since canceled my card.

A fake Roku provider took the activation code from my new TV and told me I had to pay them to set up a Roku account. I didn’t. They blocked me out of my own tv.
