Total money lost $860
Type of a scam Online Purchase
My husband is in need of a service dog. So we started looking for a German Shepherd puppy. I came across this website that had pictures and prices of these puppies. Decided to send $650.00 to purchase this puppy. My husband asked for more pictures, even a video of the puppy. All was sent back, my husband even checked youTube to check if the video was a copy. The seller says that in order to send the puppy to me I have to send another $210 flat rate. Silly me, I did it. So a total of $860.00. They sent an email to my husband saying that the puppy would be here in two days as well as a tracking number. He had to get the papers and vet certificate for the puppy to board the plane first and this is what took so long. Two days goes by – no puppy. Says I missed his text messages that he was trying to get a hold of me so it would have to be the next day. My husband talked to him on the phone. Plane will land and the delivery time should be around 4:00. Then my husband received an email the morning of delivery saying that the puppy was taken off the plane because we didn’t have insurance on him. It would be another $1,050.00 to get insurance, but it would be refunded at the time of delivery. However at the bottom of the page in fine print it also says that if this is not done within 6 hours the puppy would be taken back to the seller and abandonment charges would be filed. I called the seller – no answer. I sent an email to the same address the insurance message came from – no response. So I called the air courier that was to deliver my puppy. She told me they do not have any domestic flights with puppies – at all, therefore it’s a scam. All of it is a scam, the insurance paper and the puppy itself. She said that they do not have tracking numbers for any of their packages. Everything was copied from the air line’s website. They set up a "ghost" website; so when you "look up" your package it shows what you want to see. I am not waiting until 4:00 for another excuse of why my "puppy" is not here. I am telling everyone no matter how careful you are, watch out for scammers!
