Type of a scam Travel/Vacations
A very slick fast-talker called me up and convinced me that I have bonus timeshare weeks that I could sell to make money. It didn’t seem right to me, but this guy was GOOD, and his scheme was extremely well thought through, including referring me to a site called "Online Business Bureau" to prove the company’s bona fides. He overcame all my objections, and succeeded in getting my credit card number to pay the $1749 "one-time-only marketing fee." But I kept thinking about it and growing more and more uneasy, so I did more thorough research on my timeshare membership and discovered that I do not even own what he had convinced me to sell. I attempted to contact the company but could not reach anyone. Fortunately, I was able to cancel my credit card before any charge to it was made, so I didn’t lose any money, but I feel sick thinking how easily I could have lost nearly a entire month’s house payment (or more!) to this dirty business.
