Type of a scam Tech Support

Turned on my computer and msg appeared saying I was in danger of damagging my information because my security had expired. Msg said not to turn off computer and call 1-844-776-4701 immediately. They showed me on screen list of IP being accessed by foreign-located persons, how many times with dates, etc. Claimed to bse repairing and would contact me when finished to tell me about support. Hopefully I have not lost my money ($1602.) because I stopped payment on my check less than 24 hours after purchase. Call scammer to cancel purchase and spoke to 3 different techs, but each scammer tried repeatedly to talk to me going around what I was saying to them. Finallly told them I do not want their service, do want to talk to them, and repeated I did not want to talk to any of their employees. Twice I was told I would be transferred to Customer Service and spoke to David, Sam, and a woman. Repeatedly stating I wanted to "Cancel" and would stop payment on my check which they had scanned. Ended when I exploded telling him to go to Hell. I hung up. Stop payment has been completed on the check. I checked ScamPulse.com and found their rating to be "F" and told them about the ScamPulse.com information. They wanted to shoe me theirs and I refused anything they had to show me or tell me. They are associated by many names and numerous locations.
