Total money lost $3,000
Type of a scam Home Improvement
We hired Robinson Valderrama on July 10, 2018 to remodel our bathroom (vanity and floor). We hired him because he was working on the swimming pool and bathrooms in our community, plus he was renting a condo in our community. He took a $3,000 deposit by check. He promised the bathroom would be exactly like the picture my wife showed him. He cashed the check immediately and told us the vanity was ordered the following day, and that it would take three weeks for it to be ready. Three weeks went by, and the vanity was not ready, something about the counter top being special ordered. The demolition was done in one day and the floors were done in two visits. It was like pulling teeth to get him to come, he arrived late all three times, and the floor color was not what we had asked for. That was the last time we saw him. After that we heard from others in the neighborhood that he had taken money (deposits) from several other people. He would not answer phone calls or text messages except three times; once to say he was returning after a family emergency and would fix everything, the second asking for a bank account to refund the money, and the last to say the deposit would be made in 4 business days. So far there has been no deposit. It has been three months since we gave him the deposit.
He also never finished the work on the community pool (bathroom) area, left the condo he was renting and owes the owner 3 months rent. We found out from other sources he has a criminal record dating back to 2007 for possession of stolen property and domestic property damage.
This man and his family has had many different addresses in the united states, specially New York City (Corona). He moves around, and we think he might be in North or South Carolina presently (September 2018).
The name of the company is Remodeling Services R&P Corp, and his wife Paula A. Gutierrez is the president. Steer clear of these people, they are thieves.
