After a telephone confirmation of a fixed price of 50 dollars an hour with a minimium of two hours plus 50 for gas and miscelanious, I accepted and signed a paper for removal of six chairs, a table and small buffet I had purchased. After twenty minutes of loading, I was presented with a bill of 700 dollars. When I refused to pay, they closed the truck and said that they weren’t going anywhere until I paid. I was virtually a hostage to these extortionists but refused to agree. After four hours of sitting and arguing in the hot sun they began to unload my furniture in the middle of the road. After all this I had no option but to pay the price they finally demanded. Since I didn’t have that much cash they drove me to the nearest bank to get their money. It’s a wonderful way to rob people without having to put a gun to someones head. The police were waiting at my address as my son had called them and they were helpless to do anything to stop this daylight robbery. Laws have to be changed that protect these criminals.
