Type of a scam Business Email Compromise
I received this text from my bank. When I clicked the phone number, it was an automated system saying my debit card was compromised and in order to reactivate it, I entered my card number, expiration, # on back, address number and date of birth. I did not enter any more information as I was afraid I was giving out too much personal information and hung up.
I have since called and reported it to Regions Bank and put it on FB. My husband got the same message but he did not respond. I have now placed credit freezes with the credit bureaus and Regions Bank and shut down my debit card and will reissue a new one.
Next time, I will call Regions first before responding.
