Type of a scam Tax Collection
Someone from India or with an Indian accent just called my mother and asked if we filed our taxes. The he said there was a discrepancy in the numbers reported and the actual taxes filed. I knew immediately it was a scam because they said they were from the IRS, and I know the IRS doesn’t contact you by phone; they send a registered letter. So we wouldn’t give them any information and they hung up by saying, "I’ll see you in court"
