A tech company called claiming to be going out of business and that I was owed a refund they had me get on the computer to check my checking account so that they could refund me $300. While on the computer they told me I accidentally typed in $3000 and needed to go buy gift cards to cover the difference. I went and bought the gift cards to balance their account because I didn’t want the guy trying to give me the refund to get fired. He asked me to destroy the cards after I gave him the numbers for them. I am out $2000 on purchasing gift cards and they took another $500 out of my account.
