Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
I was looking for employment and I applied to a Walmart secret shopper add. I received back a email saying I was hired and would receive a package by delivery of USPS I received a text asking me have I received the package yet. I replied no I haven’t checked the mail . Excited to make some income because I am a ft student with no stable income I drive for lyft when I can for extra money. I went to check my mail the very next day and I did receive instructions and a check for 2,900. I text the number that texted me asking if I had received the package and told them I did they asked me when I would be able to complete the assignment I responded that it was a holiday and most banks are closed I was then told if I have online banking I can load the check in to my account that way and be able to do the assignment the following day. I notice in the instructions they sent it said to only correspond with the agents at two specific numbers and one of the numbers were different I then contacted the main number I was told to text to let know I had complete the assignment and asked them about the numbers being different then what it said in the paperwork
