Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Scammer responded to a Craigslist ad for purchasing furniture and offered to send a check next day but could not pick it up in person and would wait until check cashed to arrange pick up. I was unaware of scam and provided my address. Researched the scam because the emails were not written grammatically correct and had a bad feeling. Responded back the following day saying cash only no checks. A week later I received a check for $2000 more than advertised item’s price. Check was mailed from a Boscov’s store in PA,drafted from a bank in Missouri and on an account for a construction company in Texas.
