A screen pops up locking your computer. It says that your computer has been compromised and that you need to call Microsoft technical support to fix it. But you aren’t talking to Microsoft when you call the phone number. They then tell you that your computer is severely compromised and that you must pay them in order to fix your computer. I paid them and then all they did was download free spyware software. I also found a lot of malware on my computer the following day which I think they installed at the same time.
