Type of a scam Sweepstakes/Lottery/Prizes
I am 84 years old. I received a call yesterday afternoon from Publisher’s Clearinghouse, 662-554-4506. I returned his call. He was very insistent, he said I won 1.5 million by cashier’s check, and $7000 a week for the rest of my life, and a Mercedes Benz. I thought it was real, they were so sincere, they asked me what I was going to do with the money. He was very religious sounding, he said God is blessing you, He wants you to have this special gift to relieve you of your burden. But at the end of the call, he wanted me to go to Walmart and send him $300. He was very serious and gave me a lot of numbers. He said I will get my money back. He said it was a fee that I would get back when I get my winnings. I said I don’t have $300, he said they could wait till tomorrow. I said I don’t have it. He asked me when I got paid, and I said a week and a half, he said to call back then and he would give me the winnings then. He said I promise you this isn’t a scam.
