Type of a scam Online Purchase
My husband and I wanted to get a teacup Pomeranian puppy. I looked and found a website that sold them. I inquired about the puppy we wanted and submitted my info, so they can contact me. I then received a text message. We then proceeded with asking each other questions. Well we decided to put a $250 deposit down, went sent the money thru Zelle with our banks app. I would message the seller about the puppy to gather more info. Finally the day came to pay the rest of what we owed. I made another Zelle payment but this time $400. They said the next day they puppy would fly ou to us. That morning I received an email for the delivery company stating that my puppy was in transit. Later that day I got another email stating that their was a problem with continuing to send the puppy. I called the delivery company and they said the I had to purchase a life insurance policy for the puppy $375. So I did some digging around and finally realized that it was scam. My husband is the soul breadwinner of our family, we have 4 girls and live paycheck to paycheck. We got money back from our taxes and paid off all our bills and with the extra money we had left over we were gonna go visit some family out of town. After hearing about the covid-19 we had to cancel our trip. We then decided to get a puppy. Now my family is very upset and we our put $650.
