805-266-7545 and 661-403-8206 phone numbers are engaging in advance fee fraud with a scam purporting to involve Walmart and gift cards under the guise of a “survey”

I received a check for $2450. from WAL-CARD AUDITORIA. Wanting me to purchase gift cards . Is this a scam? I don’t even know these people and they don’t know me . why would some company that knows nothing about me send me $2450.?

I Got the same thing in the mail and actually called the bank that issued the check. No such account. see attached .

I was playing games on Publisher’s Clearing House’s website, and I saw a job ad to be a secret shopper at Walmart. I contacted them and they sent me a cashier’s check for $2,450. They said it was so that I could buy Walmart gift cards from various locations and grade their service. The check said it was from Security First Bank in California. I thought it was suspicious that they would just send a check for such a large amount to somebody they didn’t know, because they didn’t have a ton of information about me yet. They also only wanted to communicate through text and email. After telling them that I wasn’t sure about the job, they just kept saying " you have to complete you assignment."
