I was on my iMac desktop when a warning popped up stating that my computer was infected by a virus. It had my computer locked up and I couldn’t close the window. It had a phone number to call for help, which I called. They had me let them take over my computer remotely and showed me a bunch of files that they said were viruses and showed me that my firewall wasn’t on. They proceeded to "fix" the problem and after all they did, they charged my credit card $960 total. I’m just out that much. My husband died in October or he would have known what to do. I ate my mistake and paid the fee. Hopefully I can keep someone else from doing the same.
