Male caller …. before saying anything identifying himself or his company … delayed saying anything except "I[m having trouble with my phone line…can you hear me now?" I stupidly said YES. He said "Brian/Bryan" (last name…I can’t remember}…"with Premier Marketing" I was in the middle of moving something outdoors and hung up the call without saying anything else. The call came in at 4:10 p.m.on Monday Feb. 10, 2017 and lasted no more than 60-90 seconds. I am filing this report because our local newspaper, the Fresno Bee, recently had an article about phone callers being tricked into saying YES with simple questions and then using an altered conversation to claim that something had been purchased or ordered by telephone. If this somehow becomes a problem in the future, I am keeping a copy of my report to you to verify I did not agree to anything with this person or company. In addtion, at 4:12 p.m. I called my daughter in Los Angeles to tell her what had happened and document I was on a different call than one with Premier Marketing. She agreed I probably had been tricked and suggested I file this complaint. Your next question asks if the victim lost money…at this point NO, but it’s possible I’ll get a bill for something I DID NOT ORDER…and it seems this may trigger going to court.
