Postal Address Change

Type of a scam Online Purchase

I am in the process of moving to a new home. Yesterday, I google searched “USPS change of address” and this site was the first to pop up. I have changed my address with the postal service before so I know that they use a credit card to confirm your identity before submitting your change of address. I didn’t think twice when this website asked for my CC info to confirm my identity. I was, however, surprised to find a $60 charge to my card later that same day. At no point did I agree to ANY charge, let alone one so large. This type of scam should be illegal. The website’s header literally had “USPS” in bold letters. I have since received a “confirmation” email, which does not provide any mention of a $60 charge. This is basically theft and although I doubt I’ll get my money back I hope that something can be done to shut these frauds down.
