Type of a scam Phishing

I received a phone message on 6/27/2019 at 4:34 p.m. that was recorded. I did not talk to anyone. The message was not addressed directly by name to either of the residents. The phone number listed as the incoming call was 888-826-3823 and the phone message system indicated the caller was the Police Association. The message sounded like it was computer generated. The message said that legal enforcement action has been filed against me and that my social security number was suspected for fraud. It directed me to call back on the incoming number and talk to the investigating officer. I did not return the call.

Phone rang I answered the man on the other end so that he was with the The Dallas police Association and would like to know if they would send me an envelope and information about their charity if I would like to donate and I said sure and he goes is that a yes. I paused and said yes and then he said OK will send it out and there’s a wait you don’t have my address do you and they said oh let me get you over to someone else that can help you. That is when I realized it was a scam and I hung up.
