Type of a scam Credit Cards
After posting a vehicle for sale on craigslist I received a series of text messages from two different numbers that I believe are connected. First, someone calling himself Christopher Earley texted from 720-502-1862 saying he was in Colorado but wanted to buy the car via courier for a company called Auto Trade International Shipping. When I stopped replying, the next day I got numerous messages from Yahoo sending me account keys, indicated someone was trying to hack my account. Then I started getting messages from the number posted above, also inquiring about the car and directing me to the web site above. I went there and noticed it redirected me to a different site where I was supposed to enter a credit card number to buy a VIN report. When I replied to the 518 number suggesting the messager run the report herself on a free site, the person stopped messaging. I ran a WHOIS report on the web site and found that it was registered to someone in Colorado with a 720 area code as well, suggesting the two text message series may be connected.

posted a vehicle for sale on craigslist. Received a phone call from 941-220-1482. didn’t answer initially. Received a text immediately thereafter wanting to know if vehicle was still for sale. Then was asked the price (which was clearly marked on Craigslist). Then was requested to download a vin report from platinumvinchecks.com.
Costs $20 to do it and then to email to [email protected] After emailing it, received a text they will check their email throughout the day and get back to me to set up a time to view the vehicle.
