Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
I applied for a loan online through personal money services, witch I believe is a legitimate business in California.. I received a phone call the next day from someone that said there name was Steve Gibson and claimed to work for personal money services. He said I was qualified for a $5,000 dollar loan after a very convincing credit check and what I thought were qualification questions, he informed me that because of my bad credit the financial institution wouldn’t approve my application. He told me that I needed to put the monthly pamemnt witch was $191.00 onto an apple iTunes card to prove that i would be able to afford payments. He told me that they would not take the funds off the card, that I could keep and use the card or that I could use it to make my first payment on loan. I put the funds on the card, gave him card info. He said nothing else had to be done and that the 5,000 dollars would be deposited in to my account by the next day. And the iTunes card still had the money on it. By the next day after not receiving money and after missing several calls. Another Pearson by the name of Ronald Hunter informed me that the bank won’t process loan until I bought another ITunes card for another 180 dollars. At this point I started to catch on but still hopeful I just give him the number the original iTunes card that I had. This time he processes the card gave me a confirmation number and told me funds would be deposited within the hour. In the end no money was ever deposited into my account and he did redeem the iTunes card for full balance on the second day..after doing a little research of my own I found out that obviously apple is not affiliated with any loan services, and the phone number he used is a google app number that shows to be based out of Washington D.C
