Alex/Sutton (I don’t know if they are the same person) came to my house (*** *** *** ***) in early November 2015 and indicated that they will like to provide snow removal services.
They provided a "quote" of about $380 and obtained my phone number.
I asked them for their phone number (1-613-884-9080) and where they are located, they said in 1824 Northlands Drive in Orleans/Ottawa. After a few days, they visited my house again and I was at work, then they texted me on November 13, 2015 to obtain the payment in cash to which I replied that I will pay $160 in cash and need a receipt.
I was at work and asked my family member (a senior citizen) to pay the $160 in cash, Alex/Sutton arrived at my house to collect the money, provided a "receipt/invoice" and have never shown up ever again.
I have called the number they provided 1-613-884-9080 and there has been no response, I texted them several times but they said they return the money and have never done so. This is a dubious, fictitious business that does not exist.
They may have gone with the name "PerSnow Removal" or Personal Snow Removal and collected several hundreds of dollars in cash from non suspecting individuals/ senior citizens in the area during the period from November – December 2015. They have an email address [email protected], however, this is not a legit business (1824 Northlands Drive).
Could someone please look into this so others are not victimized?
