Type of a scam Online Purchase
On Facebook, this company calls itself Pearl Smile https://www.facebook.com/pearlgiveaway/, but operates several poorly rated online shops (including Bold Cosmetics, Glam Girl, New Trend, etc.) under 2 umbrella companies called Ycommerce and Things Are Happening LLC. Pearl Smile offers its online customers a ‘free trial’ of their teeth whitening product, but doesn’t warn them that they are signing up for a subscription-based product for which $40 will be charged to their bank or credit card account monthly. Customers also aren’t warned of the no refund/ no return policy up front via misleading advertisements on Facebook and Instagram where customers think that they are signing up for the opportunity to win a free iPhone, etc. When customers complain or submit a high number of negative reviews on social media, the company owners hide comments and open a new Facebook page, also linking the personal FB accounts of company employees as site admins to hide the true owners of the Facebook page(s).
