Type of a scam Fake Invoice/Supplier Bill
On June 1, 2020 I received a call and got a recorded message stating that my Credit card would be charged $349.99 within 24hrs, for a software license renewal unless; I pressed 1 to cancel. I pressed 1 and spoke a woman with a heavy Indian accent who would only mumble her name. When I asked what software they wanted me to renew she mentioned, "Norton or Avast or Cc Cleaner…" but never said exactly what software. I asked what my name was she provided it a well as my address?
I told her I wanted to cancel and she asked me to go to "www.supremocontrol.com" and click ‘download’ to get the cancellation form that I’d need to then Email to her. ( By that time all my FRAUD alarms were going off), as an It engineerI’m familiar with supremocontrol.com it is a product written and sold by "Nanosystems" of Ascoli Piceno, Italy. This software is a remote control suite that can give any networked user complete control of your system, mostly used for legit system support. At that time I terminated the call and called my CC company and placed an alert on my card for the next week.
Thanks
