These complaints sound so familiar. I just got a call from them. The call showed up as a phone number from my home town which was odd. The woman had a thick African accent yet gave me an Irish last name. Would not give me any info on the company but knew way too much about me. Social security number, previous work site, bank info. It was for a debt from 2007. She would not email or snail mail me any info. When I started to push her she said she’d note that I’m not going to pay and then hung up.
paramount proceedings call me every week. when I call back they always answer with a different company name (paramount proceedings, paramount legal, paramount litigation, paramount financial, paramount attorneys, paramount collection). When I ask who they are they tell me they are an attorney’s office but won’t give me the lawyer name or even their location. Today I even got a call from a recording similar to covid 19 tracing recordings. If they are legit shouldn’t they send me something in the mail or give me their actual location. they call from different area codes and different numbers but when I ask where they are located they tell me in Georgia and “that’s all the info they can give to protect their attorney”

I received a call from a “third party” company on behalf of my county stating that they had a case file against me for a short term loan I apparently took out in 2017 for $600. They had my old bank account that was closed out, my social, my full name and current address. They advised that if I wasn’t able to give some sort of payment within an hour that my “case” would be sent out to another department and I would be summoned to court. I called my county court house to verify if they had a case filed against me which they did not and advised that a third party business was calling on behalf of them to collect on a short term debt. My county has never heard of the company name they provided and no case had been filed against me through my county.
