Type of a scam Advance Fee Loan
I have been called repeatedly by Pack management group, claiming I took out a payday loan in 2013 and defaulted on $500 loan.
I have never applied for a payday loan. Pack management gave me an address that I have not lived at since 2005 in which was used to take this loan out. They also provided a chase bank account number that the money was direct deposited into does not match my personal account.
When I explained I had no knowledge of this loan, the women whom I spoke to became very aggressive and demanding.
When I asked for information on who is trying to collect from me, I was told it was private and she was not allowed to give me any info on the originator of this collection. I was told it was from a payday loan store, but she could not tell me which one and that no information would be disclosed to me. I was to pay or be sued.
I just want to see if this is a legitimate company or is it a scam going around. If I had debt I would honor it and pay. But this sounds like a scam and would like to see if you could provide clarity for me in this manner.

I am having the same issue! I just got a call like this yesterday from a collection company. They said I took out an online loan in January 2013( that was over 7 years ago) and then closed my bank account 2 days after it was deposited. I have never gotten an online payday loan, and I most certainly would not close my account right after. They also have all my info from like 5 years ago. My residence, employer, bank, and everything Is different now, even my last name because I’ve divorced since then. I’m not sure how to handle this.
