Type of a scam Utility
I got a call from someone saying they were from ontario energy board saying i could receive a rebate for installing a new furnance if over 10 years old. They asked me if it was over 10 years old and i said yes. They said an assesser would call me later to decide whether i qualify. I didn’t tell them my name, number or address but they knew all that. The number was a 519 area code so from ontario.
I got another call shortly after from another number from the state of new jersey 551area code saying an assesser would come to my house tomorrow. Something seemed strange about it so i wrote to ontario energy board and they said yes we are offering rebates but that was not us. We would not contact you that or come to your house.
They never showed up but i am concerned they are one of the "yes" scams
