Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
"Buyer" / scammer pretended to be interested in buying an expensive mobile phone (value $800) that I was selling (it was posted for me by a family member on Facebook Marketplace). The mobile number I provided to the scammer was actually a Google Voice number for security. I suspected a scam from the start, and confirmed it when the scammer wanted me to mail the package to "her boyfriend" in FL. The individual sent fake notifications from "paypal" pretending that the funds were held until shipping confirmation.
