I was called about collection on an old credit card debt. I gave them my email address so I would have documentation of all interaction. I now notice that they did not even have an address, which is what leads me to believe this was a scam. I was in such a panic when they said on the phone that I had a pending court date in California the next day that I didn’t take time to think. They threatened jail time and I panicked. I paid half of the alleged amount I owed, then decided to pay the rest and be done with it. They had me sign via Docusign and used legalese in their documents. Offices of Edwards & Young is the agency who contacted me, supposedly on behalf of Old Navy. I was supposed to receive more documentation after 90 days and never did.
