Type of a scam Identity Theft
I received a voicemail. I returned the call. Was told I was speaking with officer Scott Meyers. He said my SS# had been used in several serious crimes and a warrant was being issued for my arrest. He gave me badge # gs7698, case number dc 7010, and a warrant # 5375/42. It all sounded very official. He asked me to confirm my SS#. So I fell for it, I was in a panic. I gave him my social he already had my name, phone number and address. I don’t know for sure what kind of scam he or they are running. But they now have more than they need from me. The number shows its out of Texas and once I talked to my dad and he said it sounded like a scam. I checked on the number and its listed as "scam likely". What should I do now?
