Type of a scam Debt Collections
I received a phone call from an unavailable number stating I needed to call another number and gave me a reference cod to call. I then called the number 1-888-742-9501. They stated they were the Norwood and Stihl Law Firm out of California and basically suing me in small claims court in Lauderdale County in Florence, AL for a credit card from the year 2008. However, when I looked online for the company, I couldn’t find anything or anyone related to this company William Evans(probably an unauthentic name) that he was with. He told me he would email me documentation of this but I never received anything either. Also, he told me we could settle today for a little over $900 dollars and said I owed $1719.74. He also stated that my address has been sent mail on several occasions from them, which it has not. Please help me resolve this matter
