Type of a scam Fake Check/Money Order
Earlier today I spoke on the phone with Bonetta from your Nashville office expressing my concern over a job offer I received that appeared to be fraudulent. On June 8 I applied for a position with the North American Development Group via an application I found on indeed.com. When I was contacted by a representative of the NADG I was told that the vacancy I had applied for had been filled but I was welcome to apply for another part time Personal Assistant position. I accepted the offer and sent them information including my name, age, employment status and address. When the representative replied to this email he told me that I had been hired sight unseen and would begin my orientation on the 26th, and that I had already been mailed my first paycheck: a cashier’s check that included money to pay the delivery driver during my supposed warehouse task. I was instructed to deposit this check in my bank and use my own money to pay the delivery driver. This email was a huge red flag; I responded that I was no longer interested in working there and that the check he sent should be voided. I have not yet received more correspondence from the NADG; however, a representative named Russ Watson has sent text messages to my personal cell phone. I am submitting screen captures of the email and text message correspondence I had with this "representative." The online job application is no longer live and I cannot find any other job offers from NADG online.
If more information is needed I can be reached at [email protected] or at 6154846010.
Thank you,
Marshall Brewer
