Type of a scam Identity Theft
I set up an Instagram account and the individual saw my post and sent a follow request. We text back an forth then the individual set up a Hangouts phone account and asked me to do the same, I complied. The individual, who had a foreign accent claimed he was working overseas and needed an I-phone card. I bought one, took a picture of the pin number code and sent to his phone. A few days later I received messages for more money for a medical emergency for his minor child, I told him of many options to seek medical treatment. I was later told that the child passed away and was blamed for it, then the individual started asking for more money. I Googled the phone number and it was under a female’s name. As of today saw the person’s picture with a different name in a local magazine at a local business. I contacted the person and informed him that he may be the victim of identity theft.
