My student loans are managed through Navient. I googled "navient help number" so I could call the company to set up auto payment for my student loans. The third item that pops up is an ad that reads "call (888) 403-4811 – Navient Info" and the website listed is www.navient-info.com/
I called the number and explained I was trying to set up autopay. The man on the line said he could set it up with a credit card. He asked for my first and last name and then my social security. I offered to give my last 4 digits of social and he said he needed the entire number. I hung up and found the official navient website call help number. For the official Navient number an automatic answering service answers the call – not a person. When I finally talked to a customer service rep they said paying student loans by credit card is no longer an option and that the first number I called was a scam.
