Type of a scam Credit Repair/Debt Relief

A lady got in touch with me on Facebook stating she was with the National Debt Relief and asked me did I need any bills paid. I say of course I do I have a car note I’m struggling with right now. We exchanged number and she called me 2 days later. I asked her questions about how the business works and are they legal. She continued to say yes mama we are BBB approved. So believing what she is saying I did no further research because I’ve heard of all these companies before. She told me that it would just be an $85 down payment fee and I choose the date of when I want to make my next payment. Ok so a few days have passed and her “supervisor “ has gotten in touch with me send me a verification that my car note was paid before I could even make the down payment. So we discussed when I would be able to make the payment and with in a couple of hours in the same day we had our discussion he kept calling and calling he called me at least 3-5 time not including text messages. I did not answer because I was at work so then he went on to ask me can I drop the payment off at his sons frat party in Atlanta at 10 at night on a Saturday. When I told him no he has been calling and texting me for the last 2-3 days threatening to get a warrant filed on me for not making a payment in the first week of us talking. Now I’m not the smarts apple on the tree but at that point I felt like all of this was a joke. So I ignore his calls and text because it was just getting to out of hand. I wake up this morning to a very rude text saying this “ you are a poor excuse of a mother to let the law extract you from your kids”. I’m like hold on how am I supposed to take anything your saying to me seriously with you talking to me like that.

They call me everyday, some times 3 times a day. It’s been going on for many months. Unfortunately I only have records since October 17, 2017, because I have new phone. They left me this voicemail:

Yes hi *** how are you my name is Carter King I’m reaching out from National Debt relief(?) from one of the specialist here and I’m just reviewing inquiry that you placed on our website. Wanted to just take a look at your situation and go over some options available to you to help consolidate your debts to learn what’s going on and see how we can help you. Give me a call back when you a chance 1-800-300-9550 and my extension is 7786. I’m doing well and I look forward to speaking to you soon. Take care and have a great day.

I did not call back because the call came from a cell phone and not a 800 number. Now they call me everyday. On October 20,2017 they left another voice that just had female voices talking in the background about male bodyparts sizes and what they looked like. One side something about whether he was cute or not. It went on for a minute or so. I have saved this voicemail, I have others but they are silent.

I have texted them and asked them to stop calling me or I will turn them into the authorities, now the calls have gotten worse. I do not know what to do anymore. I feel I am being harassed by this person. I know National Debt Releif real, but I feel this person calling me from this number is not.

I really hope someone contacts me and this doesn’t just sit out there.

Thank You

Type of a scam Debt Collections

First off, I get a ton of phone calls from debt collectors and from scammers saying they are going to arrest me! At one time I believed it until I got a lawyer to handle a civil case for me for bad debt. He assured me that I could not be arrested for bad debt and that if I was he would bail me out! Meaning, it’s not gonna happen. Getting annoyed with all the scammers that call me I downloaded a app for my phone that would block unwanted phone calls. Works like a charm. That was a week ago. So, this morning I get a email from these jokers at National Debt Relief saying I would be served with papers for a debt that I don’t own! I’ve never even heard of the company! And, with my poor credit rating I don’t think anyone would do well with stealing my identity!

The email is in broken English. There is no complete address. They did give a case number so I would maybe think all of this was "Official". LOL! I mean really all you can do is laugh at these jokers. Please don’t buy into any of the scams! You will not get arrested and nothing bad will happen to you if you hang up the phone, block the call or flag email as spam and delete.

I hope this helps somebody in the future.

I called the number and got a recording to press 1 to speak to a customer service rep or 2 to remove your number from their calling list. I pressed #1 and they said to email any questions to [email protected]
