Shortly after we posted an ad on Craigslist to sell our truck, an "interested party" contacted us by text and was really excited about the purchase, but only after they saw what they called an MV report. When asked what that was, he sent a link to a site to run a VIN report on the vehicle so he "wouldn’t waste his time" checking out a vehicle that had issues. Paid $24.99 for this report online and then the page just kicked us out. Now started to get suspicious after we couldn’t find a way to actually get our own report. Person texting even helped us find the report online and then just poof….stopped responding. At a minimum, they got $25 out of us via PayPal. Reported the scam to PayPal immediately hoping for a refund. Hopefully nothing else was stolen.
